Orientation Leaders facilitate small group discussions, present information to incoming students, and assist new students and their families at the summer Orientation & Registration (O&R) programs. Leaders complete up to 15 hours of training in the spring and work full-time in July.
Transfer Transition Mentors facilitate small group discussions, present information, and assist new students and their families at transfer programs held in late August and late January/early February.
Both Orientation Leaders and Transfer Transition Mentors are selected through the collaborative student leader selection process that happens each spring. Applications are available November through February. Students applying for orientation positions may also apply for other positions (such as STAR Intern, Resident or Commuter Adviser, Tommie Central Staff, etc.) through this same selection process.
