HEALTH INSURANCE FOR 2012 - 13

Who is eligible?

All degree seeking students taking 3 or more credits are eligible to purchase the Aetna Student Health Insurance Plan. All degree seeking undergraduate students taking 12 or more credits and graduate, law and professional students taking 9 or more credits are required to purchase the Aetna Student Health Insurance Plan unless they demonstrate coverage under another health plan. Students will be asked to submit their health insurance information each fall semester by the enrollment deadlines. All International students with an F-1 or J-1 visa are automatically enrolled in the Aetna Student Health Insurance Plan. F-1 visa students have the opportunity to request a waiver if they show proof of comparable coverage.

How And When Do I Enroll in the Plan?

The student health insurance offered through UST is an annual plan. Therefore, students can only enroll in the Aetna Student Health Insurance Plan during fall open enrollment (unless you are a new student in spring or have a life changing event).

Students enroll in Murphy Online. For the 2012-2013 academic year, the open enrollment will begin August 1, 2012. Students will pay the premium in two payments of $1064 billed to their student account at the beginning of each semester.

To enroll spouses and/or dependents, students should contact Aetna Student Health at www.aetnastudenthealth.com.

All International students with an F-1 or J-1 visa are automatically enrolled in and billed for the Aetna Student Health Insurance Plan. If students on an F-1 visa have comparable coverage, they may request a waiver through Murphy Online. They must request the waiver before the open enrollment period closes.

• If you have experienced a life changing event and want to purchase the Aetna Student Health Insurance Plan outside of the open enrollment period
• New and Transfer students starting spring semester 2013 can purchase the Aetna Plan for just spring semester (1/15/13 - 8/14/13)
• Summer-only rates
