Non-Exempt Staff Council Study Abroad Scholarship
May 7, 2014 Update: Congratulations to Melanie Barreto and Anna Biljan!!
Anna has been selected to receive the Non-Exempt Scholarship for Fall, 2014 and Melanie has been selected to receive the Non-Exempt Scholarship for J-Term 2015. Each award will be $2,000 and will help with funds necessary for their plans to study abroad.
Melanie and Anna share a little about themselves:
"My name is Melanie Barreto and I am currently a junior. I plan to major in Communications and Journalism with an emphasis in advertising. Also, I am working toward a minor in Sociology and a minor in Family Studies. In 2015 I will study abroad in Italy for J-term. I am so excited for this trip because I have always wanted to travel to Italy. The course I will take there is called “Families in Italian Society.” Though Sociology and Family Studies are my minors, I have a great interest in these topics and I cannot wait to explore them in a new culture. This trip will be such an amazing experience for me! I am so thankful that I get the opportunity to participate in this adventure!"
"I am currently a sophomore, and I will be studying abroad at John Cabot University in Rome, Italy for the fall of my junior year (2014). I am a Communication and Journalism major and Psychology minor. I also plan to do LOTS of extra traveling while I'm in Europe for the semester."
