Two NESC Study Abroad Scholarships Awarded!
Two students have been selected to receive the Non-Exempt Staff Study Abroad Scholarship Award! Each will receive $2,000. We congratulate both of our winners and wish them well!! Here is a little about Anna and Melanie. . .
Meet Anna Biljan . . .
Anna plans to use the Award in the Fall of 2014 and says, "I am currently a sophomore, and I will be studying abroad at John Cabot University in Rome, Italy for the fall of my junior year (2014). I am a Communication and Journalism major and Psychology minor. I also plan to do LOTS of extra traveling while I'm in Europe for the semester."
Our second award recipient is Melanie Barreto, who will be using the award to help with her expenses during J-Term, 2015.
Meet Melanie Barreto . . .
"My name is Melanie Barreto and I am currently a junior. I plan to major in Communications and Journalism with an emphasis in advertising. Also, I am working toward a minor in Sociology and a minor in Family Studies. In 2015 I will study abroad in Italy for J-term. I am so excited for this trip because I have always wanted to travel to Italy. The course I will take there is called “Families in Italian Society.” Though Sociology and Family Studies are my minors, I have a great interest in these topics and I cannot wait to explore them in a new culture. This trip will be such an amazing experience for me! I am so thankful that I get the opportunity to participate in this adventure!"
