Pre-Theology

The Saint Paul Seminary provides a two-year Pre-Theology program for priesthood candidates who lack traditional theologate preparation in theology and philosophy, as outlined in the Program of Priestly Formation (PPF). Pre-Theology students live at The Saint Paul Seminary and attend classes at both the University of St. Thomas and the Seminary.

Spiritual Formation

Priestly ministry flourishes to the degree it is rooted in the spiritual life. Our spiritual formation program for all pre-theology students is under the direction of the spiritual director of The Saint Paul Seminary.

The Pre-Theology program provides:

• spiritual formation tailored to candidates’ needs and place in life;
  
  
• a strong community to support candidates in their vocational discernment; and
  
  
• an excellent academic curriculum that prepares candidates for success in their graduate theological training.
