Formation for Hispanic Ministry

Language Culture and Ministry

Many dioceses throughout the Midwest and nationally have experienced dramatic growth in Hispanic population in the last ten years. Many such dioceses are represented at The Saint Paul Seminary School of Divinity. The Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis currently ranks 19th out of more than 180 dioceses in this growth and approximately 125,000 Hispanics call the Archdiocese home today. It is crucial that priests be trained to minister well in this rich multicultural environment. Students from the Archdiocese are required to take a Hispanic Ministry summer following their second year of theology. Students from other dioceses are invited to full participation in the Hispanic Ministry summer at the discretion of their bishops.
