Master of Arts in Theology

The Master of Arts in Theology (M.A.T.) is a 36-credit degree program focusing on the academic study of theology. Students work with original sources and develop the principles and methods of theological reasoning and research through study of the tradition and of the contemporary context of theological discourse.  Solidly Roman Catholic in nature, the program welcomes students of all religious traditions and invites them to appreciate the wisdom of theologians from a variety of cultural and religious contexts.

The School of Divinity offers the MAT degree in collaboration with the Theology Department of the University of St. Thomas.  The two faculties bring a wealth of expertise in a broad range of areas to the academic study of theology.
