

John Ireland Scholarship
The University of St. Thomas and The Saint Paul Seminary were founded by the visionary Archbishop John Ireland, the third bishop and first archbishop of St. Paul. The John Ireland Scholarship honors his commitment to Catholic education and service to God’s people by offering graduating seniors the opportunity to pursue full-time graduate studies in theology at The Saint Paul Seminary School of Divinity.
Scholarship parameters
· Up to three scholarships granted annually to UST graduating seniors
· Full tuition for full-time students pursuing MA in Theology, MA in Pastoral Ministry or
MA in Religious Education
Criteria
· Record of academic success as demonstrated by coursework and cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher
· Enthusiasm for the mission of The Saint Paul Seminary School of Divinity
· Demonstrated commitment to service
· Eligible for admission to MA in Theology, MA in Pastoral Ministry or MA in Religious Education
Application process
· Submission of all materials for application to The Saint Paul Seminary School of Divinity
· Completion of the John Ireland Scholarship application form by June 1, 2009 and March 1 in subsequent years
