Rector's Sustaining Fund

St. John Vianney, the Patron Saint of Priests, once said, "The eyes of the world see no further than this life, but the eyes of Christians see deep into eternity."

The seminary, which is in a certain sense at the heart of the life of the local Church, prepares and forms men to see and to be the light of Christ for the people of God.

"To see Thee more clearly . . . " is the challenge for the one who must act in the person of Christ.  Purity of heart is an essential quality for all, but most especially for the one who is to be a steward and administrator of God's mysteries, a living instrument of forgiveness and grace, a minister of the Word that saves.

Those who support the seminary through their prayers and their gifts help those studying to see and to be the light of Christ as His priests.

The Rector's Sustaining Fund provides the financial resources to meet our yearly program and operating expenses.  Tuition and fees charged to seminarians and students cover approximately half of the actual cost of their education and formation.  The remaining 50%, approximately $25,000 per student per year, is made up through sustaining support received from generous benefactors.
In addition to priestly formation, the seminary provides financial assistance to lay students preparing for ministry within the Church.  Approximately 75% of our lay students enrolled in the seminary's graduate programs receive financial aid.

The Rector's Sustaining Fund is composed of gifts received from individuals, foundations, parishes, alumni, and corporate employee matching gift programs.  Contributions can be made to by credit card, Electronic Fund Transfer from a checking or saving account, or by making a check out to The Saint Paul Seminary.  Contributions can be mailed to:
