The lecture series Learning to Pray the Liturgy of the Hours is an excellent opportunity for you to experience the beauty of the "official" prayer of the Church and discover why this prayer has held such a profoundly important role in the lives of Catholics throughout history.  This two-part series will not only explain how to pray the Liturgy of the Hours, but will teach you how to incorporate it into your daily life.

Archbishop Harry J. Flynn Catechetical Institute Instructor and Director of Diaconate Formation for the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis, Deacon Joseph Michalak will offer the lectures.

What the Liturgy of the Hours Lecture series will cover:

  • Explanation of the Liturgy of Hours, why the Catholic Church so strongly recommends we pray it, and who must pray it.
  • An overview of the basic format of this beautiful liturgy.
  • How to pray Morning Prayer and Evening Prayer.
  • How the Psalms are prayed as Christian prayer.
  • Praying the Liturgy of the Hours through the liturgical seasons and for feasts.
  • Incorporating the Liturgy of the Hours into your broader prayer life.

Books and materials for praying the Liturgy of the Hours will be available for purchase on site.
