Professor Bruton has 35 years of experience in corrections including both juvenile and adult probation and institutions. He has served as the Vice Chair of the Minnesota Parole Board, Superintendent of the Ramsey County Corrections Facility and Deputy Commissioner of Corrections. He retired as Warden of the states maximum security prison at Oak Park Heights. He is the author of THE BIG HOUSE: Life Inside a Supermax Security Prison, Voyageur press, 2004 and A TRADITION OF PURPLE: An Inside Look at the Minnesota Vikings, Sports Publishing, 2007. He has been an adjunct member of the UST faculty for 23 years.
