Trauma Informed Supervision, led by Jane Hurley Johncox, MSW, LICSW

Trauma informed care and supervision is grounded in an understanding of the impact of trauma on clients and secondary trauma on staff in their day-to-day work. The trauma informed supervisor creates a safe environment for clinicians to share their experiences; encourages self-care; and provides opportunities for staff training and support. This workshop will enable supervisors to:

• Understand trauma and its impact on supervision

• Identify tools to assess self, clinicians and organizations for signs of trauma and collective trauma

• Explore the parallel process between client/clinician and clinician/supervisor and to safely address transference and countertransference

• Effectively provide support to clinicians working with clients who experience trauma
