If you are getting a line or lines on your copies, and it happens when running the originals through the document feeder, but not when the original is placed on the glass, try carefully cleaning the clear strip on the platen cover, (the thing you lift up in order to place an original on the glass), and/or the glass strip on the platen. This will depend on the model.
