All repair/service requests will initially be taken by UST's IRT Client Services at 2-6230, or IRTHelp@stthomas.edu. They will determine how to proceed, and dispatch the Marco Service Tech on your behalf if necessary. When you contact Client Services, please be prepared with the model number, serial number, location of machine, the contact person and phone number, along with a brief description of the problem, e.g., "Constant paper jams", or "Bad copy quality".
International faxing on the HP copiers---> (see below for Sharps) After you dial the number, the amount of time between when you can enter your long distance code varies depending on the country and city. If your long distance code is entered too soon, you will hear a fast busy signal and it won't send. To correct this, go to a regular phone and call the number you are trying to fax to, and count how many seconds it takes before the beep telling you to enter your code. Then, when you send the fax, dial 8 to get an outside line, the country code, then the number, then you need to enter the appropriate number of commas (,,,,) by touching the "," key for how long the wait is. Each comma represents a 2 second pause. So for instance, if you call France, and there is a 7 second delay before the beep, you would need to enter 4 commas (8 seconds) after the number. The amount of time will be different for each country. You may need to enter a comma after the 8, or the country code, if things are slow with a particularly busy network. If the amount of commas doesn’t work the first try, then try adding or subtracting a comma until you get it to go through. Unfortunately there is not an “off hook dial” feature on the HPs. Call Mike Vanneste at 2-6359 or John Barron at 2-6584 if you have any questions.
For sending an international fax on a Sharp MFD- call Mike at 2-6359
Please keep your MFD "ON" at all times- It will go to sleep when the time is right. This will allow the automated meter-reading function work properly. .

UST's print and copy management system is called Equitrac. This system automatically accounts for copies and prints, and bill for them appropriately. The separate keypad attached to the right side of all copiers/MFD's (Multi-Function Devices) is the interface to Equitrac.
Here are the steps required to enable the MFD/copier:
...then use copier as normal, and touch "END" when you are done, to end your active session. At the end of your session, the amount that will automatically be charged to the last entered INDEX will display, (rounded-off).
Sharp or HP MFD's that are primarily intended for departmental use by faculty and staff will require users to enter the INDEX code on the Equitrac keypad that the copies should be charged to. When printing to an MFD, a pop-up on your workstation will ask which INDEX code to charge to. When printing to a networked, stand-alone departmental printer, Equitrac will automatically charge your "home" INDEX. Generally, with a department's permission, faculty and staff users will be able to use any departmental MFD that is convenient to them, knowing that the charges will be applied correctly to their INDEX.
The cost per copy or print is $.0425 (4.25 cents). Copy paper and printer paper must be ordered on-line using SCOOP. *As a security measure to limit misuse of an INDEX code, public MFD’s will not recognize an INDEX code. Faculty or Staff who wish to copy in the libraries or Law School should use a departmental MFD located behind the service counters.
Students have a $40 (400 prints and/or copies at $.10 each) quota per semester. Each semester is defined as follows:
Printers in student labs will automatically know who to charge based on the workstation login information. "Public" copiers in certain locations will require students to enter their UST ID # along with their birthday (mm/dd) on the Equitrac keypad. All student charges will appear on their tuition bill.
Student employees
Student employees whose job requires them to make copies or prints for the department, (on department devices) will follow the Faculty and Staff instructions above. These prints and copies will be charged to the department.
Guests
Guests will be able to purchase $1 and $5 pre-paid copy and print cards for use on public devices in the libraries. These cards will be good for a period of 1 year.
