 Business Reply Mail FAQ’S,

What is Business Reply? :

Business Reply is a means of expediting a mail reply.

Why use Business Reply Mail (BRM)? :  BRM envelopes can be sent back hassle free without applying any postage. The receiving department pays for the postage and a fee.

How much does BRM cost? : The cost for each 1 ounce #10 size envelope is $.47.  The cost is based on the weight and size of each envelope or postcard.

Why does BRM cost more than a regular letter? : The extra costs involved with BRM include accounting fees and permit fees.  These fees are carefully calculated and passed on to each user.  You are only charged for pieces that are returned.

Where do I go to get my BRM envelopes? : The St. Paul Service Center (2-6585) can print your envelopes for you.  They are the experts with the special zip + 4’s that apply only to BRM pieces.

What do I do if I’m in a rush and don’t have time to wait to print envelopes? The St. Paul Service Center carries generic envelopes for these special requests. The only requirement is that you write in your mail number so we know who should receive these pieces as they come in. (Inquire at the St. Paul Service Center, 2-6585)

Why do I need to send a sample to Campus Mail Services with my index number? : Campus Mail Services pays the permit and accounting fees for Business Reply Mail.  We, in turn, need to charge each customer back for the incoming pieces.  If you don’t supply us with your banner index number we don’t know who to charge when these pieces come in.

Remember, the reason you use BRM is to expedite your mail. You don’t want unfinished processes that will delay your mail.

Who do I call if I need additional help with my Business Reply project? If you need help with the printing aspect call the St. Paul Service Center 2-6585.  If you need help with the incoming processes and charge-backs call Campus Mail Services 2-6350.
