Parking & Transportation
We look forward to having you participate in The Selim Center programs and welcome you to our campus. This page is intended to give you information that will facilitate your visits.
For information on building locations and parking ramps, view campus maps or click the links below for maps that show the specific locations for Selim Center programming. Maps for off-campus locations will be found by clicking the map links on the individual program pages.
St. Paul Campus
If you have not been on campus for a few years, there have been many changes to parking on the UST St. Paul campus, due to the construction of new buildings and also the elimination of some on-campus surface lot parking. Please read this information carefully to make your visit to our campus more manageable.

We encourage you to consider alternative means of transportation whenever possible, including car-pooling, public transportation, and the St. Thomas shuttle bus.
Public Transportation: Call Metro Transit at (612) 373-3333 for current routes, schedules and fares or on the web at http://www.metrotransit.org
St. Thomas Shuttle Bus: Runs every 20 minutes starting on the hour between the Minneapolis and St. Paul campuses, stopping on Summit between Cleveland and Cretin (the Arches) in St. Paul and in front of Terrence Murphy Hall in Minneapolis, on Harmon. The shuttle leaves on the hour, then at 20 minutes and 40 minutes past each hour. The ride takes approximately 17 minutes one way, with a short walk (less than 2 blocks) to the lecture room from the bus stop. There is no charge to ride the shuttle, but you must have a Selim Center ID card in order to ride the shuttle. This card is available from The Selim Center during Center hours (call to check hours at 651-962-5188) or via mail. Please send a self-addressed, stamped envelope for all shuttle ID requests by mail. A limited supply of shuttle IDs will be available at Center programming.
Parking on the St. Paul Campus:
All vehicles parked on UST property must either have a valid permit or be parked in a paid visitor parking area (except for those with valid state-issued handicap permits). Vehicles improperly parked on campus are subject to ticketing and towing.
On-Campus visitor parking ramps: there are two ramp locations with visitor parking. Click on the map link above to review both locations. The cost is $1.50 per hour. The preferred method is to swipe a credit card when you enter and again when you leave. Otherwise, you may take a ticket and bring it to the pay station to make your payment and receive an exit voucher. If you take a ticket when you enter, you must go to the pay station before going to your vehicle.
Handicapped parking: those with state-issued handicapped permits may park in any of the designated handicap spaces on campus or any of the metered spots at no charge.
Be sure to watch carefully for resident-only parking signs on the streets surrounding the campus, since most streets are resident-parking, only.
