April Lunch'n Explore: "Issues and Trends in American Education"
Lunch'n Explore programs feature presentations by prominent speakers from the area in luncheon talks that include table conversation and opportunities for questions and answers. Enjoy a good lunch and join in conversation and discussion.
Event Speaker: Dr. Robert Brown has been a University of St. Thomas professor of educational leadership since 1964. He was also a Minnesota State Senator (1966-1976), Special Assistant to the U.S. Secretary of Education (1981-86), producer of TV series on the national goals in education (1989-91), with the Minnesota State Board of Education (1993-97), and the editor of the book series Innovations in Education for Rowman Education Press.

Event Description: This lecture will provide a discussion of the current issues in American education such as parent and student choice, the role of technology in education, local control versus national conformity, education funding, and what is the primary purpose of education.
