Mission and Goals
The Selim Center for Learning in Later Years inspires and sustains passion for lifelong learning in adults age 50 and older.
The Selim Center for Learning in Later Years at the University of St. Thomas is a quality lifelong learning resource for persons age 50 and older in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan areas and beyond. The Center enhances the lives of participants through educational programs and social interaction with one another and with traditional college-age students. The Selim Center encourages learners to grow in mind, body, and spirit, so they will continue to think critically, act wisely, and work skillfully to advance the common good.
The Selim Center engages older adults in quality educational opportunities that promote growth in body, mind and spirit, so that they continue to remain actively engaged in the world, serving as models of lifelong learning and contributors to the common good.
