The 10th anniversary of St. Thomas' Bernardi Campus
Located on the banks of the Tiber River in Rome, Italy, the University of St. Thomas' Bernardi Campus opened its doors to students in fall 2000. The building was constructed in 1923 within view of the Vatican, used as a private home and later belonged to an order of nuns. The residence provided St. Thomas with a reliable space for students to live. A gift from Antonio and Cecilia Bernardi, parents and grandparents of St. Thomas alumni, made the purchase of the building possible.
Approximately 600 students have stayed at the Bernardi campus since it first opened. Most of these students have been participants in the Catholic studies study abroad in Rome program.
