Web Registration Worksheet

Students may use Murphy Online, the web registration system, to register for courses in any Fall or Spring semester, January term, or Summer session. The web registration system lets you add and drop classes, view available classes, and display and print your schedule. If you wish to use Murphy Online, please read the information below, print the worksheet, and follow the instructions carefully.

Instructions and Terminology

Before using Murphy Online:

Undergraduate students should use the current Summer/Fall or January/Spring term schedules to choose courses and several alternatives for that particular term. Please note that you also will need your UST I.D., Personal Identification Number (PIN), and your designated date and time for registering. Your designated date and time is sent to you via e-mail each term by the University Registrar's Office. If you've forgotten your PIN or UST I.D. contact the IRT tech desk at 651-962-6230.

Graduate students should use the schedules as directed by their graduate program office to choose a course(s). Please note that you also will need your UST I.D. and Personal Identification Number (PIN) and your designated date and time for registering. Both are assigned by your graduate program office. If you need information regarding your registration date and time, please contact your graduate school. If you've forgotten your PIN or UST I.D. contact the IRT tech desk at 651-962-6230.

Using the grids provided below, write the course reference numbers (CRN) (the numbers listed in brackets next to the courses you wish to take) in the boxes provided. Complete the FOR YOUR REFERENCE section so that you will recall the courses for which you wish to register when you actually access the Web registration program. Remember that you must register for Summer courses before you register for Fall courses; similarly you must register for January courses before you register for Spring courses. Use the first reference box below for January or Summer session courses. Use the second reference grid for Fall or Spring term courses.

  • Be sure to log out when you have finished. If you don't, someone could change your class schedule.
  • To move up and down a page, use the up and down arrows to the far right of your computer screen. If you cannot see these, use the square boxes [ > ] at the bottom of the screen to move the screen to the left or right.
  • Click on this link, log in to BlackBoard and scroll to the Registrar Info for Student's block for Murphy Online documentation.
