Each college, school, or program is responsible for providing advising services for their students.
Colleges, schools or programs that require advising as a condition of registration are to have a written statement to that effect in their governing documents. An example of such a statement follows:
This program requires students to obtain academic advising as a condition of registration.
Important Note: In the absence of a more strict policy at the school or college level the University Graduate Academic Policies apply. Should a graduate program not have a specific policy or should there be omissions or gaps in the policy for a specific graduate school program, the University Graduate Policy shall govern.
The Graduate Academic Policies are the responsibility of the office of Academic Affairs. For additions or revisions contact Dr. Angeline Barretta-Herman, Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs.
