UST Recycling Machines

Alcoa Recycling Magnetic Conveyor separates bi-metal steel cans from aluminum by pulling them off the belt with magnets.

The conveyor empties cans into a Prodeva Can Crusher crushing the cans allows storage of three to four times more aluminum before it needs to be taken to the processor

The Vertech GPI M72 Balers  make cardboard bales weighing 600-750 pounds. Besides this one in the Recycling Center, there are four other cardboard balers at UST. They are located on the MHC loading dock, the Minneapolis Law School loading dock, the Terrence Murphy Hall and the Binz Refectory.

Palletainers
are large wheeled cages where the recycled paper is sorted into different grades: office paper or ledger, newspaper, magazines or glossy paper, and the un-recyclable is put into the trash. The palletainers are picked up by the Rock-Tenn Corporation on a weekly basis.
