We are very happy to announce that UST is one of the first schools in the country to shelter a chapter of Nu Rho Psi, the national neuroscience honorary, an organization similar to Tri-Beta and Psi Chi.  Learn more about Nu Rho Psi at http://funfaculty.org/NuRhoPsi/. 

The criteria for student membership in Nu Rho Psi:

  • 3 or more semesters of college work
  • 3.2 or higher overall GPA
  • 3.5 or higher GPA in the following 3 behavioral neuroscience classes:
         PSYC 204    Brain and Human Behavior
         PSYC 322    Sensation & Perception
         PSYC 401    Physiological Psychology

                             OR

     3.5 or higher GPA in the following 3 biology courses:
         PSYC 204    Cellular & Molecular Biology
         PSYC 354    Neurobiology
         PSYC 330    Animal Behavior or BIOL 349  Anatomy and Physiology

The purpose of Nu Rho Psi shall be to:

  • encourage professional interest and excellence in scholarship, particularly in neuroscience;
  • award recognition to students who have achieved such excellence;
  • advance the discipline of neuroscience; encourage intellectual and social interaction between students, faculty, and professionals;
  • promote career development in neuroscience and related fields;
  • increase public awareness of neuroscience and its benefits
  • encourage service to the community
