Observing
Criminal Activity
If you observe a crime in
progress or behavior which you suspect is criminal, immediately notify the university
Public Safety Office at (962)-5555. Report as much information as possible including what
the person(s) is/are doing; the location; physical and clothing description of those
involved; if weapons are involved and if so, what type; vehicle description and license
plate number if appropriate; direction of travel when last seen, etc. DO NOT APPROACH OR
ATTEMPT TO APPREHEND THE PERSON(S) INVOLVED.
What Will Happen Next?
Campus Public Safety officers and/or St.
Paul/Minneapolis Police officers will respond to the situation, take appropriate actions
and do the follow-up investigation.
Reporting Non-emergency Information
If you have non-emergency information that
you wish to report, you may do so by calling the University of St. Thomas Public Safety
Department at (96)2-5100 in St Paul or (96)2-4100 in Minneapolis.
If you have non-emergency information that
you wish to report to either the St. Paul or Minneapolis Police Departments, you may do so
by calling the St. Paul Police Department at (651) 292-3549 or the Minneapolis
Police Department at (612) 348-9392.
