What to do in an elevator emergency:

  • Press the elevator telephone button to communicate with the Public Safety office via the elevator telecommunication system.
  • Give the Public Safety dispatcher the location of the elevator and floor number if known.
  • Remain calm.
  • DO NOT try to force open the elevator door.

What Will Happen Next

  • A Public Safety officer will respond.
  • Public Safety officers will be in communication with you via the elevator intercom system.
  • You will be assisted from the elevator as soon as possible.

An elevator repair technician will respond to repair the elevator.
