Erin has had a long history in gifted education.  Early on in her career, she was a first-grade cluster teacher with Inver Grove Heights School District.  She took a short hiatus from ISD 199 and worked part-time in both Eden Prairie and Edina school districts as a G/T resource teacher.  Erin returned to I.G.H. in 1997 and has served as Coordinator of the Able Learner Program ever sicne.  Erin has a Masters Degree in Curriculum an Instruction and a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership, both from the University of St. Thomas.  Seven years ago, Erin worked with Dr. Karen Rogers to help create Minnesota's first full-time gifted magnet program for elementary students.  Today Atheneum is a well established and successful magnet that is serving students from over 25 school districts in grades two through high school.  With twice-exceptional students in the program, thee has become an increased awareness as to the struggles of this unique population, as well as an intense need for advocacy and accommodations that promise them a higher level of success.

Erin has acted as a consultant for many districts that wer considering the creation of similar gifted programs, and has also been a frequent presented at gifted conferences.  Because she is an advocate for ALL gifted children, Erin is happy to share what she has learned through her work in Inver Grove with districts, teachers, and families everywhere.
