
Karen B. Rogers is Professor of Gifted Studies in the Special and Gifted Education Department in the College of Applied Professional Studies at the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She has worked there, except for three years, since 1984. She recently returned from a 3-year appointment as Director of Research for the Gifted Education Research, Resource and Information Centre at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia.
Karen is the author of four books, including "Re-Forming Gifted Education: Matching the Program to the Child," and has published 35 book chapters, and close to 250 journal manuscripts, 65 program and curriculum evaluations, and 36 curriculum units for gifted learners. She recently retired as a Board of Director from the National Association for Gifted Children's Board and is current Chair of the special interest group of the American Educational Research Association, Research on Intellectual Giftedness. In addition, she sits on the editorial advisory boards of Roeper Review, Gifted Child Quarterly, and the Journal for Education of the Gifted, Gifted and Talented International, and is Associate Editor of the Journal for Advanced Academics.
Karen holds honorary professional fellowships at three international universities: University of New South Wales, University of Wollongong (both in Australia), and Nanyang Technological University's National Institute of Education in Singapore.

Carol is a graduate student, majoring in Gifted and Talented Education, and is a Research Assistant and Project Manager for PROJECT2EXCEL. She is active at the local, state, and national levels of several organizations promoting advocacy for gifted and twice-exceptional children. Carol is an active member of several professional organizations, including:
