Letter from Dr. John Morrison, chairman of the presidential search committee
On June 30, 2013, the 14th president of the University of St. Thomas, Father Dennis Dease, will retire after 22 years in office.
The University of St. Thomas presidential search committee, assisted by the executive search firm Witt/Kieffer, is in the process of searching for the next president of St. Thomas. We are committed to keeping our community and presidential candidates informed throughout the search and selection process. This website has been designed to help meet that commitment.
All of us on the presidential search committee have a long relationship with St. Thomas. The committee members collectively bring a broad and deep range of skills, experience and perspectives to the search. We take seriously our responsibility to identify and recommend the strongest possible nominee for the presidency—someone whose professional qualifications and personal qualities enable him or her to recognize and foster the best aspects of the university, while providing a clear vision and exceptional leadership for the university’s continued evolution.
We greatly appreciate all of the input provided to us by the St. Thomas community regarding the unique characteristics of St. Thomas and the qualities and objectives you seek in the new president. We have incorporated this input in the leadership profile for the new president.
Now we ask for your assistance in identifying and nominating qualified individuals to serve as president. Please email USTPresident@wittkieffer.com with the names of individuals you believe are qualified and would serve as an exceptional leader for St. Thomas.
If you have questions or comments about the search process, please do not hesitate to contact us at USTPresident@wittkieffer.com.
Sincerely,
Dr. John Morrison
Chair, Presidential Search Committee
