What are the emotions? What are they for? And what should we do about them?

Seventeenth century scientist and philosopher Rene' Descartes answers these questions, integrating physiological, ecological, psychological, metaphysical, and moral perspectives. His ambitious attempt to provide a multifaceted, integrated, and practical account of the emotions is worthy of reflection today.
