The Miller Analogies Test is a high-level mental ability test requiring the solution of problems stated as analogies. It consists of 120 partial analogies that are to be completed in 60 minutes. The MAT is used as part of the admissions process by several UST graduate programs. The cost of the MAT is $75, payable at the time you take the test. Your MAT score is valid for 5 years from the day you take the test.
Fluency in the English language, a broad knowledge of literature, philosophy, history, science, mathematics, and fine arts, and the ability to reason out relationships may contribute to performance on the MAT.
A candidate information booklet, which includes some sample questions, can be downloaded from www.milleranalogies.com. Most major bookstores and public libraries also have more detailed preparation materials for the MAT. Be sure the materials you reference are up to date.
