Spring 2013 St. Paul Parking Permit Sales

St. Paul J-Term, Spring Parking Permit Sales Begin Dec. 17

Resident students who want to purchase a spring parking permit must submit a lottery form by Thursday, Dec. 13.

January Term and spring semester St. Paul parking permits go on sale Monday, Dec. 17.

Resident students who want to purchase a spring parking permit have until 11 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, to enter the second lottery. The lottery form can be completed online or brought to the Parking Services office, 2119 Grand Ave. Resident students who enter the parking-permit lottery and are awarded a permit may purchase their permits after 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, when the lottery results have been sent by email.

Yearlong and semester permits include J-Term. Resident and commuter J-Term only permits cost $30. Spring semester resident permits (including J-Term) cost $230 and spring commuter permits cost $130. Semester evening permits cost $65. Spring semester permits may be purchased Dec. 17 through the beginning of spring semester.

Spring semester College Pass (C-Pass) bus passes from Metro Transit also will be available on Dec. 17. These passes cost $150 and are good for unlimited rides on Metro Transit buses and light rail through the end of May.

For Spring 2013, Parking Services is offering an overnight permit for non-resident students. The permits will be awarded through a lottery and will be based on resident permit volume. The permits will cost $230 and will be valid only for the lower level of the Anderson Parking Facility.

Lottery forms can be found online or can be picked up from the Parking Services office at 2119 Grand Ave., on the corner of Grand Ave. and Finn St. Lottery forms must be submitted by 11:00 pm on Monday, Jan. 28. Lottery results will be emailed after 3:00 pm on Wednesday, Jan. 30. Information on the lottery process and requirements can be found here.

This is a test run for non-resident overnight permits. Whether or not these permits are offered again will depend on the success of this offering and on resident permit capacity. From one year to another, there will be no guarantee that these permits will be available. If resident student permits fill the available overnight parking spaces, non-resident overnight permits would not be available. When non-resident overnight permits are available, they will be awarded after all lottery entries for resident permits have been filled. The number of non-resident overnight permits available will fluctuate depending upon available space.

Parking permits and C-Pass cards will be available for sale in the Parking Services office at 2119 Grand Ave. (corner of Grand and Finn). Regular office hours are 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. During the first week of spring semester classes, Feb. 4-7, the St. Paul Parking Services office will be open until 7 p.m.
