Can I pay for my permit/bus pass with cash, check or credit card?

All student permits must be paid for by a charge to a student account. Faculty and staff permits must be paid for by payroll deduction.

Am I guaranteed a parking spot with my permit?

The purchase of a surface lot permit does not guarantee you a parking space. Lack of parking space is not a valid excuse for any violation of the parking regulations (for a full list of our parking policies, see the Policies section of this website).

There are multiple parking lots across campus, along with the Anderson Parking Facility on south campus. If a space is not available closest to where you need to be, make sure to check the other available lots. Some parking lots are more in demand than others. It may save you time to go directly to one of the less in demand lots or the Anderson Parking Facility.

Do I have to pay my parking tickets?

Yes, you are expected to pay for your tickets. Parking citations are a disincentive for parking illegally. If payment is not enforced, the disincentive doesn't work.

Citations are written to keep order in campus parking lots and ramps and to protect parking for those who have purchased parking permits.

Can I have a parking permit and a College Pass or Metro Pass bus pass?

No. Students, faculty and staff are eligible for either a parking permit or Metro Pass (faculty and staff)/College Pass (students). For those who purchase a permit, but would also like to use the Metro Transit system, Stored Value and Super-Saver bus passes are available for purchase at the UST Bookstore.
