Commuter Parking Options and Fees
There are several parking options available on both the St. Paul and Minneapolis campuses for commuter students. See the St. Paul and/or Minneapolis Campus Parking Maps for parking lot and parking ramp locations.
St. Paul Campus
St. Paul Commuter Permit--$250/year or $130/semester--valid from 5:00 am- 2:00 am in all yellow parking lots and the Anderson Parking Facility (valid in red parking lots after 5:00 p m).
St. Paul Evening Permit--$125/year or $65/semester--valid from 5:00 pm- 2:00 am in all yellow or red parking lots and the Anderson Parking Facility.
St. Paul Hourly Parking--$1.50/hour before 4:00 pm and $1.00/hour after 4:00 pm--is available in the Anderson Parking Facility or the Morrison Parking Ramp from 5:00 am- 2:00 am. The McNeely Parking Ramp is open to visitors after 4:00 pm.
Parking Meters are located in several lots across campus. Please check the St. Paul Campus Parking Map for parking meter locations.
St. Paul Non-resident Overnight Permit--$450/year or $230/semester--valid only in lower-level of the Anderson Parking Facility. The permits will be awarded through a lottery and will be based on resident permit volume. Lottery forms can be found online or can be picked up from the Parking Services office at 2119 Grand Ave., on the corner of Grand Ave. and Finn St. Information on the lottery process and requirements can be found here.
From one year to another, there will be no guarantee that these permits will be available. If resident student permits fill the available overnight parking spaces, non-resident overnight permits would not be available. When non-resident overnight permits are available, they will be awarded after all lottery entries for resident permits have been filled. The number of non-resident overnight permits available will fluctuate depending upon available space.
Minneapolis Commuter Permit--$225 One Semester, plus $30 refundable damage/lost card deposit (refunded at the time of the termination of your contract with the University).
Only students who are registered for 12 or more credit hours and who are on campus between the hours of 7:00 am and 4:00 pm will be permitted to purchase a parking permit for the Minneapolis parking ramp. Eligibility for full time permits is at the discretion of the Public Safety Department.
Commuter permits will be valid for parking in the Minneapolis 11th St. & Harmon Place Ramp. In the case that the ramp becomes full, Public Safety will determine alternative parking locations.
Minneapolis Commuter Permits are also valid in all St. Paul campus commuter parking lots and ramps.
