Resources for Integrating Sustainability
Please contact Dr. Elise Amel or Dr. Maria Dahmus if you're interested in integrating sustainability into your course, but don't know where to begin, or if you'd like to discuss your ideas for your course.
Each May, we offer a faculty workshop on integrating sustainability into courses. Please check back for details for our May 2018 faculty workshop.
Environmental Stewardship Curriculum Grants
The Office of Sustainability Initiatives offers Environmental Stewardship and Sustainability course development grants to integrate sustainability into courses. All part- and full-time faculty across the university are eligible to apply. The call for grant proposals is announced in April. Click here to view the previous year's guidelines.
Sustainable Communities Partnership Projects
Interested in integrating an applied, local sustainability project into your course? The Sustainable Communities Partnership (SCP) in the Office of Sustainability Initiatives develops partnerships with cities and other government entities to develop a set of partner-identified sustainability projects that can be integrated into courses across disciplines. You can integrate an entire project or one component of a project into an existing (or new) course. SCP facilitates the project-scoping process and provides curricular consultation and logistical support to integrate projects into courses. Learn more about how your course can participate here. Learn about available SCP projects here. Learn about past SCP projects and outcomes here. Watch short SCP project films here.
