The 2009 Opus Prize was presented Wednesday, Nov. 4, in Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis.
Honorees Aïcha Ech-Channa, Sister Valeriana García-Martín and Father Hans Stapel arrived in Minnesota earlier in the week to prepare for three days of activities involving the Opus Prize.
The honorees attended a Mass Tuesday in the Chapel of St. Thomas Aquinas on the St. Paul campus and a dinner with members of the Opus Prize Foundation board and St. Thomas representatives.
On Thursday, the honorees participated in luncheon discussions with students, faculty and staff on the St. Paul and Minneapolis campuses to highlight the congruence between the university's mission and their work.
