Thomas Mengler has an ambitious goal for the School of Law: "I would like other law schools, particularly religious law schools, to take notice of all that we’ve accomplished and ask, 'How do we become like the University of St. Thomas?'" This goal is not out of reach; for the second year in a row, the Princeton Review has ranked the University of St. Thomas School of Law number one for student quality of life.
Mengler came to the University of St. Thomas from the University of Illinois, where he had served as the College of Law dean for nine years. He considers his leadership of the law school one of the highlights of his career.
"We’ve accomplished a great deal. We need to continue that momentum and accelerate. We want to become ever more visible nationally so top faculty and perspective students will want to be here. Our biggest challenge is to continue the progress we’ve made."
