J-1 to- do list

  • Exchange students should contact International Student Services to request your transcript prior to leaving St. Thomas.  The fee for one transcript is covered by St. Thomas.
  • Schedule your exit interview with an ISS advisor and complete the online survey that will be emailed to you.
  • Notify your RA of your intended move out date - and make sure your move out date is on or before the deadline (ask your RA if you have more questions)
  • Change your address address in Murphy Online or by visiting the Registrar’s Office in person.
  • Close your campus mailbox with the Post Office (if you have one) and
    re-direct your mail to your home address.
  • Cancel subscriptions, telephone service, utilities, etc. if you live off-campus.
  • Close bank accounts and/or have monthly statements cancelled or sent on-line.
  • Turn in any library books or items on loan from the University.
  • Make sure you have no printing fees. To check your printing activity, log into Portal and click "current printing activities" under the "Applications" menu.
  • If you live on-campus, contact Telecommunications to arrange for your final bill.
  • Make sure your student account is paid in full. You can check your account on-line or in person at the Business Office. NOTE: If you owe the university money you will not be able to receive copies of your transcript or your diploma if you completed a degree here.
