The Office of International Student Services has established a Mentor Program to help new undergraduate and graduate international students during their first semester on campus. Current US and international students who have lived abroad and are interested in being involved with international students are hired to serve as mentors to help new international students with practical, social, cultural and academic adjustment.
New international students will meet their mentors for the first time during International Student Orientation, which is held at the beginning of every fall and spring semester. Mentors will assist new international students with airport pickups, orientation, housing, and advice and directions regarding school and daily life. The mentors will keep in contact with new international students individually and invite them to group gatherings throughout their first semester at the University of St. Thomas.
