How to send us news

The University of St. Thomas and OISS will be closed December 20 to December 28, 2008 and January 1, 2009.

President Dease has granted all University of St. Thomas employees two additional days off for the Christmas Holiday.  Thanks to his special gift, St. Thomas and OISS will be closed from Saturday, December 20 until Sunday, December 28, 2008.  OISS will re-open for normal office hours on Monday, December 29, 2008.  St. Thomas and OISS will be closed for the New Year’s Holiday on January 1, 2009. 

All St. Thomas International Students are encouraged to plan ahead and meet with an OISS Advisor immediately if you intend to travel during the Winter Holiday or J-term.  Call 651-962-6650 to schedule an appointment with an OISS Advisor.

Happy Holidays from OISS!

The office will re-open on Monday December 29th 2008.

 

     Book Buy Back Alert

Public Safety issues 'book buyback' reminder and alert about check scam

The University of St. Thomas Public Safety Department has posted two new alerts on its Web site: one offers tips regarding end-of-semester "book buybacks"; the other is an alert about a check scam that targets college students.

J-term Shuttle Bus Schedule

Shuttle hours change during holidays, J-Term

Hours of operation for the intercampus shuttle bus will change during the holidays and J-Term. Changes are listed below:

  • The intercampus shuttle will not operate from Saturday, Dec. 20, through Sunday, Dec. 28.
  • On Wednesday, Dec. 31, the shuttle will stop running at 6 p.m.
  • The J-Term shuttle will start on Monday, Dec. 29, and continue through Thursday, Jan. 29.
  • There is no Saturday shuttle during J-Term.
  • The Saturday shuttle will restart on Saturday, Jan. 31.
  • The full shuttle schedule will resume Monday, Feb. 2.

 

Writing Center Hours

Writing center open through Dec. 18

Last week of class:
During the last week of classes, the UST Center for Writing will be open as usual through Sunday, Dec. 14:

  • 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday
  • 9 a.m.-noon Friday
  • 6-9 p.m. Sunday in O'Shaughnessy-Frey Library Center

Exam week:
The Center for Writing will be open Monday, Dec. 15, through Thursday, Dec. 18, during exam week. Hours will depend on consultant availability; call to make an appointment, (651) 962-5601. The center is located in Room 361, John R. Roach Center for the Liberal Arts.

Consultants:
Consultants in the Center for Writing will help with writing at any stage of the process and for any course. Through individualized conferences, consultants work with writers who are beginning a new assignment, organizing their ideas or revising a final draft. Consultation also is available on the center's Web site.
