The University of St. Thomas
and OISS will be closed December 20 to December 28, 2008 and
January 1, 2009.
President Dease has granted all University of St. Thomas
employees two additional days off for the Christmas Holiday.
Thanks to his special gift, St. Thomas and OISS will be closed
from Saturday, December 20 until Sunday, December 28, 2008.
OISS will re-open for normal office hours on Monday, December
29, 2008. St. Thomas and OISS will be closed for the New
Years Holiday on January 1, 2009.
All St. Thomas
International Students are encouraged to plan ahead and meet
with an OISS Advisor immediately if you intend to travel during
the Winter Holiday or J-term. Call 651-962-6650 to
schedule an appointment with an OISS Advisor.

J-term Permit/C-Pass Sales
Begin
January Term and spring semester St. Paul
parking permits go on sale Wednesday, Dec. 17.
Residents who wish to purchase a spring
parking permit still have until 11 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15
to enter the lottery. You can
complete the lottery form online or turn it in at
the Parking Services office, 2119 Grand Ave., or at the
Public Safety office, first floor, Morrison Hall.
Residents who entered the parking permit lottery will be
able to purchase their permits after 3 p.m. when the
lottery results are posted on the
Public Safety Web site.
Commuter permits will be available for
purchase at 8 a.m.
Yearlong and semester permits include
J-Term.
Resident and commuter J-Term-only permits
cost $30. Spring semester resident permits (including
J-Term) cost $230 and spring commuter permits cost $130.
Spring semester permits may be purchased now or at the
beginning of spring semester.
The spring semester College Pass (C-Pass)
bus passes from Metro Transit also will go on sale Dec.
17. These passes cost $175 and are good for unlimited
rides on Metro Transit buses and light rail through the
end of May.
Parking permits and C-Pass cards will be
available for sale at the Parking Services office at
2119 Grand Ave. (corner of Grand and Finn).
J-term Shuttle Bus Schedule
Shuttle hours change
during holidays, J-Term
Hours of operation for the intercampus shuttle bus
will change during the holidays and J-Term. Changes
are listed below:

The intercampus
shuttle will not operate from Saturday, Dec. 20,
through Sunday, Dec. 28.
-
On Wednesday, Dec.
31, the shuttle will stop running at 6 p.m.
-
The J-Term shuttle
will start on Monday, Dec. 29, and continue
through Thursday, Jan. 29.
-
There is no
Saturday shuttle during J-Term.
-
The Saturday
shuttle will restart on Saturday, Jan. 31.
-
The full shuttle
schedule will resume Monday, Feb. 2.
Writing Center Hours
Last week of class:
During the last week of classes, the UST Center for
Writing will be open as usual through Sunday, Dec. 14:

9 a.m.-noon Friday

6-9 p.m. Sunday in O'Shaughnessy-Frey Library
Center
Exam week:
The Center for Writing will be open Monday, Dec. 15,
through Thursday, Dec. 18, during exam week. Hours will
depend on consultant availability; call to make an
appointment, (651) 962-5601. The center is located in
Room 361, John R. Roach Center for the Liberal Arts.
Consultants:
Consultants in the Center for Writing will help with
writing at any stage of the process and for any course.
Through individualized conferences, consultants work
with writers who are beginning a new assignment,
organizing their ideas or revising a final draft.
Consultation also is available on the
center's Web site.
