How to send us news

The University of St. Thomas is opening doors: Are you going through them?

On which side of the door are you? How can you keep that door open for others?

The University of St. Thomas Challenge Day, a 24-hour event scheduled for March 12-13, 2008, is an opportunity for students to engage in an experience through reflection, dialogue and writing to raise awareness of each person's impact on his or her community.

On March 12, student challenge day teams will have an opportunity to hear from one of the first people to walk through a newly opened door. Minnijean Brown-Trickey, the Luann Dummer Center for Women's March speaker, one of the original Little Rock Nine (nine African-American students who, under the watch of 1,200 armed soldiers and a worldwide audience, helped to desegregate Little Rock Central High School in Arkansas on Sept. 25, 1957) will give an inspiring talk about the ongoing challenge of diversity. She will join challenge day participants for lunch the following day.
Challenge Day is an event that may change your life, starting with dinner and a speaker on Wednesday, March 12, and culminating with the lunchtime activity from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 13. The event includes dinner, speaker, event T-shirt and lunch activity. Students are invited to register in teams of four to six people by Friday, Dec. 21, (space is limited – first come, first served).

This event is sponsored by Multicultural Student Services, Campus and Residence Life and the Luann Dummer Center for Women.
