Attend free Mindfulness Meditation class Friday

December7, 2007
noon-1 p.m.
Luann Dummer Center for Women, Room 103,

Here is your opportunity to check out Mindfulness Meditation classes. A free session will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, in the Luann Dummer Center for Women, Room 103, O'Shaughnessy Educational Center.

Here's how the session is described:

Are you becoming anxious and overwhelmed as the semester draws to an end? At this one-hour session of mindfulness meditation and gentle movement, you will learn to use breath as a stress-reduction tool while enhancing focus and concentration that will lessen distraction and help you to keep on task.

This session can leave you feeling physically, emotionally and intellectually rejuvenated and give you take-away tools to keep the practice going. Over the past 35 years, some scientists have said that mindfulness meditation can benefit health issues such as: stress, depression, fatigue, sleep disorders, high blood pressure, headaches, fear and anxiety, chronic pain and illnesses, and GI distress.

Barbara Wulf will lead the class. She received her professional training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center's Center for Mindfulness. She facilitates classes and workshops in the Twin Cities business community and at UST. She also has taught at the University of Minnesota.

This program is sponsored by the UST Wellness Center.
