STAR offers reduced tickets to 'White Christmas' performance and sponsors free dance club on campus

"White Christmas"
St. Thomas Activities and Recreation will sponsor a trip to the musica l"White Christmas" at the Ordway Center for Performing Arts.

Buses will leave at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, from the arches and return at approximately 10:30 p.m.

Tickets for the show are available starting today. Tickets are $5 for students and $7 for guests. The first 45 students to send an e-mail to STAR will be granted a ticket.

The Ordway describes the show as a classic holiday tradition that tells the story of two showbiz buddies putting on a performance in a Vermont Inn, while finding their perfect mates. The show is filled with dancing, laughter and classic Irving Berlin songs.

During the show's holiday run, Rice Park across from the Ordway will sparkle with decorations.

Dance club
Scooter's will be transformed into a dance club from 9 p.m. to midnight Wednesday, Nov. 29. The Dancer's Studio, located on Snelling Avenue, will DJ the event and bring dance instructors, as well.

A variety of music will be played, including salsa, swing and ballroom music. If you know how to dance, come and show off your skills. If you don't, there will be instructors available to help you learn.

A large spread of appetizers and beverages will be provided.

This event is free for students, and guests are welcome to attend. No tickets or sign-ups are needed.

If you have questions, e-mail STAR.
