Holidazzle Parade with the Mentors

Saturday, December 2, 2006

WHAT
If you can picture your favorite storybook characters coming to life, then you have some sense of what TCF Holidazzle Parade is all about - twelve spectacular, sparkling, fairy-tale floats, each featuring its own theme song, winding their way down the Mall, surrounded by nearly 250 characters glittering and glowing with lights.

Hansel and Gretel, the Wizard of Oz and Captain Hook twinkle with life as their sparkling lights, magical music and whimsical characters win the hearts of children and adults alike. What makes TCF Holidazzle even more special are the thousands of volunteers who don the costumes and bring them to animated life. No two parades are exactly alike! In addition to nursery rhyme themes, parade fans will enjoy the sounds of the season as the choir float showcases various community choirs outfitted in dazzling robes laced with hundreds of lights. Another real crowd-pleaser is a marching band that performs outfitted with lights.

WHEN
Saturday, December 2, 2006.
Meet at Arches to take 4:20 PM UST shuttle to Minneapolis. Don’t be late!

We will have dinner in Macy’s lower level marketplace deli and then line up on Nicollet Avenue to watch the parade at 6pm. After the parade, we will go back to Macy’s to see the store’s annual eighth-floor holiday show highlighting the whimsical story of Mary Poppins through a series of local artist-created vignettes.

WHERE

WHY
Be part of this holiday traditions since 1992. In addition to the fun parade, TCF Holidazzle has teamed up with Cub Foods and Ameriprise for the 10th annual Food and Cash Drive. Each night before the parade starts, volunteers will walk the parade route collecting food and cash donations. During the parade, the Circus Train float will chug down Nicollet Mall also collecting cash and non-perishable donations to benefit the Emergency FoodShelf Network.
