How to send us news

Register with your home country's Embassy/ Consulate in the USA

International Students and Scholars are strongly encouraged to register with your home country's Embassy/Consulate in the USA. Find your Embassy/Consulate at: http://www.embassy.org/embassies/ or http://www.embassyworld.com/

Your country's Embassy/Consulate in the USA will assist you with the following:

  • security/safety assistance during a crisis or natural disaster
  • passport extension and renewal
  • home country tax information and access to required forms
  • assist with translation or locating translation service for you and your important documents (birth certificate, marriage certificate, etc.)
  • guidance regarding visa and immigration options for visitors to your country
  • U.S. degree or certificate translation/conversion to your home country's equivalent (not all Embassies/Consulates provide this service)
  • advice about returning to your home country (moving service, immigration options for family members born in the U.S., etc.)
  • tourist information for visitors to your country
