Register with
your home country's Embassy/ Consulate in the USA
International Students
and Scholars are strongly encouraged to register with your home
country's Embassy/Consulate in the USA. Find your Embassy/Consulate
at:

Your country's Embassy/Consulate in the USA will assist you with
the following:
- security/safety assistance during a crisis or natural
disaster
- passport extension and renewal
- home country tax information and access to required forms
- assist with translation or locating translation service for
you and your important documents (birth certificate, marriage
certificate, etc.)
- guidance regarding visa and immigration options for visitors
to your country
- U.S. degree or certificate translation/conversion to your
home country's equivalent (not all Embassies/Consulates provide
this service)
- advice about returning to your home country (moving service,
immigration options for family members born in the U.S., etc.)
- tourist information for visitors to your country
