Dropping a class
Students are advised not to drop out of a class during the remainder
of the semester even if they may be failing the class if so doing
would take them below the number of credits (Undergraduate-12
credits and Graduate-6 credits) required by Immigration to maintain
full time student status. Once a student drops below full time
student status OISS must terminate that student in SEVIS and report
the student to be out of status. This action has more important
negative consequences including being deported. Any student having
any difficulty in this regard should immediately see an OISS Advisor
prior to dropping any class.
