Mentor Activity: The Other Side of Winter

"The Other Side of Winter - How to stay safe and enjoy Minnesota winter"

Friday September 30 event:
Winter is just around the corner, so come and learn from winter expert, Lisa Mueller (Assistant Director - Multicultural Student Services), about how to stay safe and warm by knowing:
  • Winter terms and what they mean
  • Stages of winter cold (Yes, there are many stages)
  • How to drive safely in winter weather if you have a car
  • Winter clothing
We will have a winter clothing fashion show, entitled the "OISS Sashion Flow" to illustrate what to wear and also what NOT to wear.  Our models will be your international student mentors who will be wearing the latest trends in winter fashion.  Come see us debut on the catwalk following the winter information session above.  Information for this event is as follows:

WHAT: OISS Winter Session and "Sashion Flow" fashion show
WHEN: Friday, September 30, 5:00 - 6:30 pm
WHERE: O'Shaughnessy Education Center Auditorium
Afterwards, we will have the "After Party" in Scooter's where we will enjoy free pizza!

Saturday October 1 event:
Saturday, October 1, 2005
Meet in OISS at 9:30 am

If students are interested, we can also make a stop on the way back to this store, which has been legendary in offering a wide selection of winter coats.
