How to send us news

Welcome from OISS

OISS would like to welcome all new and continuing International Students! You have overcome many obstacles to join us at St. Thomas. We acknowledge the experience, opinions, and customs you bring to St. Thomas and hope that you have an opportunity to not only learn about American culture and way of life, but also to learn more about yourself and your own culture. The University of St. Thomas is an environment in which to experience new things and to challenge yourself to become a better person by understanding and listening to others. The OISS staff hope you take advantage of opportunities and fully engage with your new surroundings. We look forward to helping you reach your goals and aspirations. Welcome to the University of St. Thomas!

International health insurance billing computer glitch

The University requires all international students to purchase the University’s health insurance plan. It is charged directly to your tuition and fees bill unless you obtain a waiver based on comparable coverage.

We found out that during the printing of the first tuition bill, the automated script that charges the international health insurance was never changed to reflect the current term.  This has been “activated” now, however, this means that your student bill printed on August 23, 2005 will not have the insurance charge.  This charge will be reflected on the September bill.   If you want the St. Thomas insurance, you have been covered even though you were not charged.  If you want to waive it, please fill out the waiver form by the deadline date of September 23, 2005.
