Immigration Update: Full-time enrollment deadline of Sept 15

The Office of International Student Services (OISS) will begin reviewing your official registration on Wednesday, Sept. 15 to notify the Immigration Department of your enrollment within the first few weeks of the semester. Be sure that you are registered officially in all of your classes by Sept. 15, including those for which you are waitlisted, as OISS staff must inform the Immigration Department of F-1 and J-1 students' enrollment each semester.

Undergraduate F-1 and J-1 students (bachelor level) must enroll in a minimum of 12 credit hours and graduate F-1 and J-1 students (Master's and Ph.D. level) must enroll in a minimum of 6 credit hours each semester. F-1 and J-1 visa students who are not enrolled as full-time students must have an exception to be enrolled for less than full-time.

Complete and turn in the exception form to OISS by Sept. 15: http://www.stthomas.edu/oiss/forms/exception.asp
