Library today:
Try new African American studies database The Oxford
African American Studies Center provides students, scholars and
librarians with more than 7,500 articles by top scholars in the
field. Users can choose to view biographies, subject entries,
primary sources, images, maps, or charts and tables when searching
or browsing. The site's thematic timelines and Learning Center
resources also provide users with powerful tools for navigating the
content. The core content includes the acclaimed
Africana, the new
Encyclopedia of African American History, 1619-1895, the
Encyclopedia of African American History, 1896 to the Present,
Black Women in America, second edition, and the
much-anticipated
African American National Biography, which presents
African American history through the lives of its people, ultimately
offering more than 6,000 biographies.
The AASC is currently available via the
UST Libraries database trials page. Feedback regarding this
database is welcome
here. Trial ends March 16.
A reminder to UST students about copying and printing in
the libraries: Printing and photocopying in UST libraries
are free for the first 400 pages each semester. UST students do not
need to purchase copy cards until they have exceeded the 400-page
limit. For details, check the
IRT Print Management Overview page. |
